SEO is much easier and more effective in WordPress than in Blogger, because here we have powerful tools like Rank Math or Yoast SEO . In today's episode, we will learn how to make an article 100% SEO friendly using these tools.

Chapter 60: Basics of WordPress SEO (Technical SEO)

Before writing a post, you need to adjust some technical settings on your website:

1. Permalink Settings: From the dashboard, go to Settings > Permalinks. From here, select 'Post name' . This makes your URL clear and understandable to Google.

2. Search Engine Visibility: Go to Settings > Reading and make sure the ' Discourage search engines from indexing this site ' box is not checked . If it is checked, Google will not be able to find your site.

Chapter 61: Choosing the Best SEO Plugin Rank Math vs Yoast

My advice for beginners is to use Rank Math SEO . It is currently the most modern and offers many premium features for free.

  • Installation : Go to Plugins > Add New, search for Rank Math, install it, and complete the ' Setup Wizard '. It will automatically create your sitemap.

Chapter 62: How to organize a post for on-page SEO

When you write a new post, Rank Math will show you a score (from 0 to 100). To raise this score above 80, do the following:

1. Focus Keyword

What is the main topic of your article? Enter it in the Focus Keyword box. For example: " WordPress SEO Tips ". This keyword should be in your title, first paragraph, and subheading.

2. SEO Title and Meta Description

This is what shows up in Google searches. Make your title catchy so people click. Give a short summary of your article in the meta description where the keyword is present.

3. Content Length

Google currently prefers detailed information. Try to make your article at least 800-1000 words long. It is difficult to rank with short and superficial information.

Chapter 63: The Importance of Image SEO

A blog post without images is lifeless. But uploading images incorrectly can ruin SEO.

  • Alt Text: Give alt text to each image. Use your keyword here.
  • Image size: Large images slow down the site. Use WebP format which is high-quality but lightweight.

Image SEO also helps your site rank in Google Image Search.
Image SEO also helps your site rank in Google Image Search.

Chapter 64: Internal and External Linking

  • Internal Link: Include a link to an older, relevant post within your new post. This helps Google understand your entire site better.
  • External Link: Provide a link to a large or trusted website (such as Wikipedia or Adobe) as a reference. This increases the reliability of your information.

Chapter 65: Mobile Friendliness and Core Web Vitals

Google now gives more importance to sites that load quickly on mobile.

  • LCP (Largest Contentful Paint): The main part of your site must load within 2.5 seconds.
  • Tip : This score is fine if you use a good hosting and a lightweight theme (e.g. GeneratePress).

Chapter 66: The Magical Use of LSI Keywords

Instead of using the same keyword over and over again, use synonyms. For example, instead of " How to make a website, " use " Website creation guide " or " Step by step blogging ." This tells Google that your content is deep and rich.

Chapter 67: Instant Indexing

It may take time for your post to appear in Google after you post it. If you turn on Rank Math's ' Instant Indexing ' feature, it will send a notification to Google as soon as your post is published. As a result, your article will appear in search results faster.

Chapter 68: New Challenges of SEO

Currently, AI content is rampant. That's why Google is now emphasizing EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness).

  • Tips : Share your personal experiences in your writing. Google prefers human experience over mechanical writing.

SEO is not a one-day job, it is a continuous process. We have discussed almost all the technical aspects of WordPress SEO. If you follow these rules and publish at least 20 posts regularly, your site is bound to appear on the first page of Google.

In the next episode, we will learn "WordPress Security and Speed Optimization"  how to protect your site from hackers and make it load at rocket speed.
