In the previous three episodes of Illustrator, we learned about the basic tools and logo design. If you want to become a professional Illustrator user, you need to not only create shapes, but also bring them to life. In today's episode, we will learn those magical tricks.

Chapter 16: Blend Tool Creating Motion in Design

The Blend Tool is one of Illustrator's most powerful features. Using it, you can blend one object into another or create beautiful color transitions.

  1. How it works: Draw two separate shapes or lines. Now click Object > Blend > Make.
  2. Why use it: It's best for creating 3D text effects, color palettes, and abstract backgrounds.

Chapter 17: 3D and Inflate Effects

The 3D panel is now much more advanced in the modern Illustrator of 2026. Now you can turn any 2D shape into a reality with one click.

  1. Extrude & Bevel: Use this to give depth or thickness to your logo.
  2. Inflate : This is very popular right now. Any shape can be inflated like a balloon to give it a professional 3D look.

The 3D effect will give your simple design a professional look.

Chapter 18: Opacity Mask Advanced Shading

In the previous episode, we learned about Clipping Masks. But if you want one side of your design to gradually fade out, you need to use an Opacity Mask .

  1. Method : Place a black-to-white gradient shape over the object you want to mask. Then click Make Mask from the Transparency panel. The black part will disappear and the white part will be visible.

Chapter 19: Image Trace Converting Images to Vectors

Sometimes a client may send you a logo that is of very low quality. You can quickly convert it to vector using Image Trace without redrawing it.

    1. Tips : For best results, choose the High Fidelity Photo or Black and White Logo option. Then expand it to become an editable shape.

Chapter 20: Final Checklist and Outline Stroke

Before finishing a design and sending it to a client, an important task is to convert all your strokes to fills.

    1. Select everything and go to Object > Path > Outline Stroke. This will ensure that the border size is not lost if you resize or resize the design.

Illustrator is a huge software. In today's 4th part, you have learned many advanced techniques. If you practice these 4 parts well, then you are fully prepared to start any kind of custom illustration or logo design work.
